about the photographer
Deeply interested in the human experience, photographer Gabriel Teague explores the lived narratives and emotions of those in front of his lens. This raw emotion transcends simply preserving a memory and instead tells a story: the story of a trip, of falling in love, the growth of a family, a beloved place, a person, or even an object. In every image he unabashedly captures a tone of truth – a genuine vulnerability, however uncomfortable or non-traditional the subject matter may be. His work conveys how deeply entrenched he is within his art and it is this fearless intersection of artist and subject that allows his images to evoke a profound sense of honesty.
Gabriel’s passion for creating and capturing art is rivaled only by his love of travel. Like his art, the newness of a place or experience brings out his own truth and rawness. He can often be found on a quest for new places, adventures, faces, landscapes, cultures, and experiences.
He holds both a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design and a Bachelor of Art in Photography from Sacramento State University. He also completed a Master of Art in Visual Communication from the Glasgow School of Art in Glasgow, Scotland.
When not globe-trotting or adventure-seeking, Gabriel can be found living and working in Northern California.
